Charging Tax On Your Event

Managing your tax rules

O-tix gives event organisers complete control over how they charge customers attending their event. This includes the option to enable or disable sales tax.

The Sales Tax available is set according to the location of your event. For example, an event operating in the UK can choose to charge VAT on all purchases made for their event.

In some cases, it is appropriate to not charge sales tax for your event, and O-tix can cater to this. This feature is perfect for charitable and tax-exempt organisations who are looking to host events.

You will be required to select your preference in the event setup process.

If you are charging tax for your event, you will need to provide some business information details depending on the location of your event.

For example, an event being run in Australia that is charging GST will need to provide the ABN (Australian Business Number) of the business running the event.

Tip: You can also access and edit your invoice details and company address at any time through the User Dashboard, under the Event Management section.

Note: Once you have setup and published your event, you cannot switch between charging sales tax and not charging.
