If you want allow donations to a cause or charity (when your customers are purchasing your tickets), click “Donations” button in your Toolbox.
1. TURNING DONATIONS ON/OFF
Looking at the example above, simply click “Activate Donations” to begin.
Fill in the required information including donation amounts that you would like to accept.
Click “Assign to tickets” and select the ticket types you want to assign donations to (the customer will see the donation options only for the tickets you assign it to).
After you finish setting your donations, you will be returned to the event management dashboard.
2. EXAMPLE: TICKET PURCHASE WITH DONATION
The above is an example of a customer purchasing some tickets and opting to make a donation in the same transaction.
3. GENERATING DONATION URL'S
Scenarios in which the ’Generate Donation URL’s’ could be used:
- You want to retrospectively invite past ticket purchasers to make a donation (if for example, you have partnered with a charity after ticket sales have already commenced)
- You want to send an invitation to make a charitable donation to your existing database
After activating donations successfully, click “VIEW MORE” on the "Total donations" tile, and then click “Generate donation links” to export links of donation for customers who have already purchased tickets.
Select the timeframe for which you would like to download the required donation links.
[blockquote text="Tip: The timeframe selector allows you to filter which ticket purchases you would like to create donation links for (based on the ticket purchase date)" text_color="" width="" line_height="undefined" background_color="#fafafa" border_color="#3bb4ed" show_quote_icon="yes" quote_icon_color="#3bb4ed"]
The CSV file includes the ticket purchase date, customer name, customer email, customer mobile, ticket type and the donation link. Once downloaded you can then complete a mail merge in your email client to invite ticket purchasers to make their donation.
Note: each donation link is unique to each ticket purchase. Please ensure your mail merge inserts the appropriate link for each recipient.
Note: The donation URL’s are always linked to a ticket. If you have an email database that you would like to invite to donate (e.g. 1,000 contacts), you would first need to batch generate 1,000 ticket codes (click here to see how) , then return to the ‘generate donation links’ CSV export in which you will now have an additional 1,000 donation URL’s that you can use in a mail merge.
4. EXPORTING A RECORD OF ALL DONATIONS
On the Donation List page, you can view the details of each donation, including the data, billing name, customer ID, ticket ID, email, phone and amount of donation. If you need to export all donation data, click "Export all data" at the top-right corner.
Select the timeframe for which you would like to export the donation summary.
The CSV download includes date and time of donation (ticket purchase), customer ID, customer name, customer email, customer mobile, transaction ID, transaction ref and donation amount. It is a list of donations customers have made for your event.
